The position is located in Northbrook, Illinois.

This position resides in the Treasury & Planning department which is a part of the broader Finance Shared Services organization at Allstate. There are approximately 30 individuals in Treasury & Planning who are broken out into four teams: mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, and cash management and banking operations. Treasury and Planning is responsible for a diverse set of processes that requires results/action oriented people working in partnership with other functions in the company. Position Description:
A staff financial analyst position in the Treasury and Planning department, within the Corporate Finance team. The employee will assist with rating agency, capital markets, and corporate structure related responsibilities including modeling of capital adequacy, communication with internal and external parties, and analysis supporting corporate finance decisions and corporate structure projects.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Analyze, evaluate, and execute capital markets alternatives related to debt, equity and structured finance solutions
- Modeling of rating agency capital standards including A.M. Best's Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR), Standard & Poor's Capital Adequacy Ratio (S&PCAR) Economic Capital and NAIC Risk Based Capital
- Perform Quarterly analysis of capital adequacy of Allstate legal entities utilizing rating agency capital models
- Coordinate and liaise with internal parties (Business Unit, Investments, Tax, Legal, Accounting) for communication with rating agencies
- Coordinate annual meetings with rating agencies including the development of PowerPoint presentations
- Coordinate annual rating agency data submissions and Allstate's responses to ad-hoc surveys and inquiries
- Respond to requests from the rating agencies for information
- Interact directly with rating agencies and investment banks regarding capital adequacy modeling and analysis of various capital markets alternatives, respectively
- Assist with corporate structure evaluations including, but not limited to, subsidiary formations and dissolutions
- Assist with special projects and other research

Qualification
Required Skills:

Computer Proficiency:
Microsoft Office software- Strong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Ability to create and utilize Excel based models
Education:
College degree required with Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration preferred, along with 4 - 6 years of work related experience. MBA desirable, but not required
