Pricing Technician - (Job Number: 0009ZU)

The Product Operations organization within Allstate Protection maximizes profit by designing products that meet the needs of our customers. Specifically, the delivery of products and services to our agents and customers in a seamless, timely, and cost-effective manner is essential. In addition, it is our objective to continuously identify business improvement opportunities, implement new strategies when appropriate, and focus on competitive intelligence.
The scope of this job is to complete specific sets of work processes designed to research, develop, file and implement projects associated with maintaining the insurance rates in each state for various lines of business.
The individual will be responsible for:
  1. Rate Indications - support the development of a pricing rate indication by assembling data exhibits, inputting data into the system, running the applications and sharing information and insights with actuarial staff
  2. Rate Proposals - gather experience reports for rating plans for use by actuarial staff, including updates to rating plan scenario in the PMW tool
  3. Rate Filings - support the development of pricing rate filings by assembling documents from the indication system, updating rules/rates manuals, preparing filing forms and loading information into Calligo
  4. Implementation - support the implementation efforts related to pricing projects including partnering with technology and other business areas to develop Customer Requirement Documents and other processes such as checking test cases and reports from technology
  5. Miscellaneous - responsible for completing data calls and premium surveys from Departments of Insurance, completing simple rule change projects and completing simple data pull requests

Qualification

Experience Desired:
  • Related insurance and/or pricing knowledge and experience in P&C industry not required but a plus.
  • Related experience in accounting, finance, economics or mathematics.
  • Project management experience a plus
  • 0-2 years experience with data research
  • Experience in accounting or audit, financial analysis is strongly desired
  • Experience building databases and reporting is a plus
The skills required are:

  2. Proven experience working on projects requiring data manipulation
  3. Good communication skills (written/verbal)
  4. Time and project management
  5. Experience in Insurance Operations and Rating Plans is a plus
  6. Attention to detail
  7. Great team player

Education:
College Degree preferred
