The scope of this job is:
Assist the Securities Operations team in the completion of investment and trade transactions, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the investment system and proper accounting in the general ledger. The position is responsible for the application of key investment processing controls and maintenance of documentation as required under Sarbanes Oxley. It is expected that the individual would continually seek process improvements enabling greater productivity. The position is expected to support management objectives.
The Position will be responsible for:
Maintain and analyze various securities types, including types such as fixed income, equities, limited partnerships, mortgage loans and derivatives.
Processing of cash settlement and collections related to investment activity
Research and resolve open receivables and payables, and unapplied cash associated with trade settlement and collections.
Investigate and resolve variances or discrepancies related to transaction processing.
Comply with key control requirements defined pursuant to Sarbanes Oxley
Qualification
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Work effectively in a team environment.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and issue resolution skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity and a high degree of self-motivation.
Experience Required:
0-2 years of accounting experience.
Accounting degree preferred
Preference for direct work experience in investment accounting in the insurance industry
Computer Proficiency:
Microsoft Office software - Excel, Word, Access, Outlook & Project Server
Ability to learn multiple applications - including database, reporting and general ledger software packages
Education:
College Degree (BS in Accounting preferred)
Major Preference:
Accounting (CPA or CPA candidates preferred)
