Audit Specialist Unit Manager - (Job Number: 00099P)

Effectively manage, lead (typically two or more audit staff members), plan, and execute complex, enterprise audits independently and objectively. Communicate audit risks, plans, scope, issues, observations, remediation, etc. with Business Unit and departmental management. Increase Audit Team effectiveness through identification and communication to management the business value achieved through implementation of audit recommendations and observations made. Promote effective and efficient risk management by assessing existing and emerging business risks. Lead discussions and develop audits based on evaluated risk, changes in the environment, emerging issues and perform periodic validation of audit priorities with key stakeholders. Understand and align work activities with Internal Audit's Strategy for fulfilling its role in the organization.

Qualification

  • Strong understanding of either Internal Audit practices or the economics of the insurance business.
  • Strong leadership, project, and time management skills with the ability to conceptualize a project approach or method and translate that into actionable steps for the audit team and drive audits forward across the business
  • Ability to establish a network of contacts throughout the organization and influence individuals at different levels with the ability to drive action
  • Exhibit strong thought and people leadership
  • Problem solving - uses judgment by applying broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex issues.
  • Influencing - ability to effectively influence individuals at different levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Critical thinking - ability to draw insightful conclusions from information gleaned from multiple sources.
  • Broad business acumen - ability to engage in wide variety of business discussions and quickly learn new and/or complex concepts
  • Strong business knowledge
  • 8+ years of audit experience, Public Accounting, Internal Audit or 8+ years of Property and Casualty business experience
  • CPA or CIA a plus
  • College degree preferred - major preference of Accounting / Finance
