Job Description We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Editor to join the Online Services team. The Editor will have a key role in an editorial team that acquires and creates articles, projects, maintenance reminders, blogs, news feeds, curated feeds and other content on a diverse set of topics for Manage My Home and Sears.com. The editor will be required to select content for consumer-facing homepages, write homepage headlines and teasers that drive click-thru and user engagement, edit content in a number of editorial specialties and should be flexible and well-rounded in their editing abilities. This role will have full responsibility to determine licensed and creative content for target programs, work with writers and other editors in the creation of custom content, and work with the marketing team to establish the ongoing editorial and content direction for customer programs. The ideal candidate will:

. Have experience programming and editing the homepage of a consumer-facing web site.

. Understand content programming on the web and how to drive both click-thru and user engagement with good content

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person will oversee the creation or production of content across a variety of SHC online relationship experiences. The specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Build a comprehensive offering of information, tools, and expert advice that will power the dynamic application experience on assigned web sites

2. Assist the editorial team in implementing a product that meets customer needs while fulfilling business objectives

3. Develop ideas for content based on the requirements of the business and new consumer trends. See those ideas through to completion by writing content, employing freelancers, and acquiring content from third party sources.

4. Determine the balance of content needed across different areas of the sites and identify content needed to fill those areas

5. Monitor user trends on the site and consumer trends outside the site

6. Participate in the innovative uses of online technologies to establish community around content and information

7. Participate in the editing and proofreading process

8. Follow established tone, style and communication guidelines

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Education/Training -

BA/BS minimum with a strong writing/editing emphasis

Upper-level coursework in editing or writing or equivalent knowledge

Experience -

1. Has a least 3 years of editing experience, including for consumer-facing websites

2. Writes in an easy-to-read, conversational style

3. Can manage multiple projects under deadline pressure and with shifting priorities

4. Possesses a gut-level understanding of the difference between good writing and bad

5. Works well in a collaborative atmosphere and also can work independently

6. Familiar with the blogosphere and social networking

7. Knows AP and Chicago styles
