We are looking to fill a Shift Mechanic at our Calumet City, IL Ashland Performance Materials Plant. As a Shift Mechanic, you will be providing direct mechanical support to the plant. Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment such as boilers, water treatment systems and production machines. Position is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical devices/systems in operation to locate cause of problem. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance on all equipment and troubleshooting/repair processing, filling and packaging production equipment. Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals. This position requires a flexible work schedule and pays $28.07/hour.
Successful Candidates will have:
*3 years experience: Manufacturing plant, chemical process industry preferred
*Operating knowledge of boilers, wastewater systems, fire systems and automated processing equipment desired
*High school diploma
*Basis Electrical and Mechanical aptitude
*Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System used to input and update work orders,
*Must have good math and communication skills
*Candidate must be in good physical condition as job requires walking, climbing, lifting 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and use of applicable safety equipment
*Successful completion of competency test assessing mechanical aptitude required
*Must be authorized to work in the United States
