Epic Learning Consultant
General Summary of Position Responsibility:
The Epic learning consultant uses all phases of the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) to support the information management competencies of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals, administrative support employees, and students. The Epic learning consultant partners with Super Users, T3s, the COD clinical educators, ambulatory and inpatient clinical units and departments and Epic application IM project team members and leadership to provide for specified application education through all phases of the Epic product life cycle and the user workflow that involves documenting in the electronic medical record.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Analyzes training requirements through audience, content needs assessment and lagging indicators. Develops and manages a training plan that supports the system based workflows for one or more specific Epic applications.
2. Coordinates training activities for applications to ensure the delivery of quality clinical and non-clinical services.
3. Participates as the learning professional and represents the voice of user acceptance in all application design, redesign or problem solving sessions. Utilizes knowledge of specified applications in the design and development phases of a project. Utilizes knowledge and experience with user acceptance through all phases of user system usage.
4. Collaborates with stakeholders and team members to deliver specified application training to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals, administrative support employees, and students. This includes training on new functionality available in major releases and includes advanced and refresher training on a specified application's functionality.
5. Partners with others to develop and deliver application training to obtain minimal proficiency at go live of a new or upgrade of Epic applications. Coaches employees and models adapting to the changes introduced by technology.
6. Partners with others to build, test and maintain and reuse the virtual training environment, learning maps, online reference guide and other digital learning resources such as scenarios and online reference documentation.
7. Coordinates the evaluation of a specified application's training outcomes - analyzes results and recommends improvement for future training.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:1. Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred in Adult Education, Communication or Instructional Technology.
2. Experience applying principles of adult education preferred. For example, needs assessment, training material design and development, delivery and evaluation. Experience with design for web based information technology systems required.
3. Experience in a business or healthcare setting resulting in knowledge and skills to successfully assess needs and win credibility and trust of the target audience members, SME representatives and Epic team leaders required.
4. Experience designing and developing blended learning solutions using rapid e-learning development tools such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia and collaboration tools such as Microsoft SharePoint.
5. Excellent facilitation skills that foster critical thinking and adult learning (includes self directed learning). Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Excellent time and project management, instructional design/development and process improvement skills.
7. Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, produce results and cope with the inherent pressures of driving change through technology.
