Job Description The Editor is responsible for bringing courses and programs to life by combining raw digital film footage, animation, and other new media elements to tell stories that meet strict content and regulatory requirements. The Editor will collaborate closely with the Cinematographer to produce high-quality product in very fast turn-around times to meet a rapid innovation cycle and improve student outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Organize stories and maintain project timelines for the rapid iteration of innovative program delivery pilots, meeting critical deadlines for course development and production.
*Collaborate closely with Cinematographer and with new media, curriculum, faculty, business analyst, field operations, and new programs teams to meet business and academic goals.
*Travel extensively (50%+) in domestic U.S. to conduct shoots that capture live instruction, interviews, and other content in order to meet specific curriculum and regulatory objectives.
*Conduct taping of voiceover sessions, directing talent to desirable performances.
*Respond to student outcomes measurements with exciting, creative film techniques in order to continuously improve student experience and performance.
*Continuously increase knowledge of field in order to recommend new approaches and/or revisions in collaboration with business and academic teams.
*Perform other duties, as assigned
Education and Experience required:
*Bachelor's Degree in Film, with specialization or extensive coursework in editing.
*2-4 years experience and/or training.
*Hands-on post-production experience in a fast-paced environment.
*Experience producing projects that combine film, animation, and other new media techniques.
*Familiarity with Apple new media software required.
*Ability to edit with facility on a Macintosh computer system.
*Operate multiple film and sound packages.
*Apply and maximize the benefits of current and future software and hardware such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, 2D, sound mixing boards, etc.
*Ability to develop and manipulate animations strongly preferred - candidates will be asked to demonstrate technical competencies as part of the interview processhink conceptually and creatively, applying images, sound, and music to deliver a quality product that meets business and academic goals.
*Edit video content to meet specific objectives and create outstanding experiences.
*Demonstrate outstanding oral and written communication skills.
*Interact with others with sound judgment, good humor , and consistent fairness in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment>
*Organize and meet deadlines in a matrixed corporate setting with multiple stakeholders.
*Multi-task effectively, juggling multiple priorities and projects.
*Work in a collaborate fashion with colleagues at all levels.
