Responsibilities:
Performs duties to support the Inventory operation by preparing materials
needed for Order Filling and providing general support within the Inventory
department.
* Using a manual pallet jack, retrieve stacks of empty totes from the
Shipping, Sortation, and Inventory departments for use in the Order Filling
and Receiving departments.
* Using a manual pallet jack, move palletized True Dewey carton stock to the
Inventory department for use in Order Filling.
* Stock palletized pick locations and remove books from cartons in this
area, as needed for Order Filling.
* Route titles between the Returns, Cataloging Services, and Purchasing
departments as scheduled or directed.
* Empty warehouse garbage receptacles in the Inventory departments as needed
and dispose of into compactor. Collect cardboard from the Inventory department
bins and bale for recycling.
* Assist in keeping the Inventory department clean and materials
organized.
Qualifications:
* Must be able to walk for upwards of 8hrs / day (with breaks)
* Must be able to push / pull a wheeled cart containing work materials
weighing 5 - 150 pounds
* Must be able to push / pull palletized materials using a manual pallet
jack
* Must be able to lift / carry / move 1- 25 pounds continuously and 25-60
pounds occasionally
* Must be able to lift totes of books, with assistance, weighing from 5 -
100 pounds
* Must be able to bend / stoop / crouch / reach / push / pull frequently
* Must be able to reach / grasp and/or lift / carry items above shoulder
level
