Statistician (Master's Level)

This master-level statistician will work closely with a PhD level statistician to address investigators' statistical needs. He/she will implement data management, data quality control, data base design and management, generate professional statistical tables and graphs, and conduct data analysis for a variety of research projects under guidance of PhD level statisticians. Experience in managing large scale data base and clinical related research is a plus. This position reports directly to the Director of Biostatistics Research Core.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct statistical analysis for a variety of research projects under guidance of PhD level statisticians.
  • Generate professional statistical tables and graphs using SAS programming or using other statistical software.
  • Design data entry systems, conduct data editing, data management and data quality control for research projects.
  • Provide consultation and guidance for usage of statistical software for investigators.
  • Analyze data for research projects using appropriate statistical and/or mathematical techniques guided by PhD level statisticians.

FTE status: FT-80

Requirements

  • Qualifications include a Master degree in statistics/biostatistics or an equivalent degree.
  • Experience and knowledge of statistical software, such as SAS and SPSS required. Very familiar with SAS programming, data management using SAS. Familiar with designing database for research projects using Microsoft Access. Familiar with CRF design using computer software. Good at data analysis for a variety of projects. Knowledge of clinical research is required. Biological related education is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency includes Microsoft Office applications. Effective communication skills. Position requires expertise in data management, data quality control, and statistical data analysis techniques. Knowledge in basic statistical concept and statistical methods is required. Excellent data analysis and statistical computing skills and knowledge of SAS, SPSS, or other computing software. The ability to work independently and motivated while being an essential part of a team.
