Managing Technology Director - (Job Number: 0008TP)

Qualification
- Define technology strategy to support the changing business and operational model for Allstate Investments.
- Advise clients on a variety of business process services that help identify, assess, manage and measure the organization's capabilities. Use business process, organizational and technology capabilities and knowledge across several of the following focus areas:
- Industry (investment management) Application Capabilities
- Enterprise Data Management/Reference Data Management
- Financial Accounting and Reporting Operations/Technology
- Performance Management and Measurement (KPIs, business driver-based metrics)
- Data Warehousing Features/Functionality
- Enterprise Technology Expense Reduction
- Lend specific subject matter knowledge to the design and integration phase of each project, helping to give specificity to the appropriate architecture, data model, and system design and interfacing requirements
- Team with client technology professionals, and/or third-party strategic alliances to provide implementation of technology solution
- Act as "agent for change" and a "challenger of the status quo".
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience at an investment management or asset management firm, or in an insurance company investment area, or as an advisor in the asset management space
- Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a technology team through all phases of the technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, conversion and testing
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating operations with technology skills
- Proven track record of project delivery
- Ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
- Experience establishing metrics for tracking success of programs and projects.
- Proven ability to drive organizational change with minimal organization breakage.
- Proven ability to develop leaders
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the business and IT organization.
- Familiarity with variety of technical architectures (application, data, infrastructure).
- Bias for action and a strong drive for execution.
- Willingness to embrace change and ability to drive performance and capabilities to the next level.
- A risk enabling (rather than a risk averse) approach to decision making and dealing with issues.
- Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
