Performs responsibilities in five areas of nursing practice: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership and professional development. Understands and integrates into the delivery of patient care the needs of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients in regards to their growth and development process. The position actively supports the Hospital's and department's Continuous Quality Improvement and customer service goals, individually and as an effective team member. Clinician behaviors include: assessment of documents, plan care and document goals appropriate for child and family. Maintain a safe environment, take direct and appropriate action to urgent situations. Preserve patient rights, reflect recognition of child's development level. Functions as a member of the healthcare team. Document patient discharge and evaluates patient and family response to plan of care. Requirements

This position requires two years of pediatric nursing experience, hem/onc experience preferred.

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and CPR certification.

Ability to effectively communicate with patient/families, physicians and hospital staff.

* This position requires an Experienced RN with 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience.

* Hem/Onc nursing experience and APHON Chemo/Bio Certification strongly preferred.

HOURS: .9 FTE (72 hours/pp) Every other weekend requirement
