Job Description
Technology Architecture professionals are responsible for delivering technology innovation and providing the backbone of our systems integration business. As a Technology Architecture architect, you can have a primary skill focus on translating a business need into a robust and integrated technology solution. Technology Architecture professionals are skilled in highly prescriptive delivery approaches and methods, and the supporting development and run-time environments required to design, build and deploy custom application solutions. Specifically for this role, you will be asked to design and implement highly scalable and "elastic" architectures leveraging cloud computing components and platforms.
Responsibilities include the following:
Will become familiar with common, relevant architecture frameworks and be able to use them in diagnosing and assessing architectures but also combine the "traditional" architectures with cloud components and platforms. Will define and recommend the right architecture choices to match the needs with the various cloud platforms available. Contribute to the high-level design in constructing a robust and scalable technology solution, taking into account the user requirements, technical requirements, etc. Perform technology architecture and (cloud) infrastructure design and capacity planning activities, portions of technology build, test and deployment activities, refine and enhance architecture and framework, as well as troubleshoot and debug technology integration problems.
Ability to travel 100% (Monday - Friday).
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years experience with Enterprise Java (J2EE or Spring, Hibernate) or .NET architectures
* Minimum of 3 years experience with object oriented programming languages (Java, C#). Any other relevant languages (Groovy/Grails, Python, RoR) is a plus
* Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and expert-level knowledge designing and implementing architectures in at least two of the following Cloud computing environments: Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine, Force.com, Microsoft Azure
* Minimum of 1 years experience with performance and scalability tuning of high-volume websites/applications
* Minimum of 1 years relevant experience designing, implementing and monitoring application architectures running on and taking advantage of a dynamic (i.e. not running on a static number of servers) virtual server environment (i.e. Xen, VMWare Server)
* Minimum of 1 year relevant experience with Parallel and Grid Computing Technologies, at least 2 of the following technologies: Gigaspaces, GridGain, Terracotta, Hadoop
* Minimum of Bachelor's degree
Preferred Skills:
* Skills in architecture design and application server development
* Basic (Linux) system administration and configuration skills is a plus
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical Science
* Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment
* Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
* Desire to work in an information systems environment
* Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
