Marketing Intern - (Job Number: 0008PV)

The purpose of this department is:
  • To lead the development of integrated consumer communications that build Allstate brand consideration and preference, contributing to business objectives.
  • To drive brand consistency and broaden the brand footprint across all media based on Allstate brand standards and guidelines.
  • To deliver those communications with operational excellence.
The scope of an IMC Intern is:
To support the strategic development and implementation of integrated marketing communications plans and programs that support Allstate's marketing strategies. The IMC intern will work closely with a Manager to gain hands-on practical experience in Marketing Communications for a major American brand.
The individual will be responsible for:
  1. Completion of a specific job / project responsibility over the course of the internship
  2. Day to day planning, development and execution of various Allstate initiatives within the target segments
  3. Interface with various internal constituents (Regional Marketing, Marketing Growth and Development, legal, compliance, etc.)
  4. Daily interaction with external vendors such as ad agencies and media representatives

Qualification

Required Skills (skills individual must bring to the job and skill levels required):

- Beginner (has general understanding/knowledge)

- Intermediate (has good working knowledge/understanding)

- Advanced (is considered an expert)

The skills required are:
  1. Verbal & Written Communications - Intermediate
  2. Organization - Intermediate
  3. A strong sense of initiative and willingness to learn - Intermediate
Experience required (type of experience and number of years required):
High school degree. Junior / senior level college student with at least three years completed at start of internship. Marketing/Public Relations/Communications/or Advertising coursework. Past intern experience in a related field is a plus.
Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Suite
Education: Junior or senior level undergraduate working towards a degree. Graduate students preferred.
Major preference: Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or Communications
