Overview:

The Manager, Human Resources is directly responsible for coordinating with the Director of Human Resources to ensure the overall administration, coordination, evaluation and management of the Human Resources department. Develops and assists in the accomplishments of the organization wide strategic plan and vision.

Positions that report directly/indirectly to this position include Human Resource Generalist, Human Resource Administrator, Human Resource Assistant.



Responsibilities:

*

Aligns Human Resource Department goals and objectives to the business strategy.

*

Participates in annual budgeting and forecasting process of headcounts and new positions.

*

Manages the Human Resource function and staff. Assists with development of the annual department budget.

*

Responsible for strategic and proactive recruiting in line with the talent acquisition strategy and designated metrics. Personally interviews all candidates at Director level and above. Approves all salary offers, and oversees the background/drug test and on boarding process.

*

Supports local management in implementing and executing the talent review and succession planning and talent development processes.

*

Manages the performance management process by facilitating the goal setting process and the calibration/performance management processes.

*

Maintains positive employee relations and manages the conflict resolution process.

*

Counsels management on compensation issues and ensures proper job documentation exists. Manages the compensation program and provides training as necessary.

*

Ensures the overall maintenance and data integrity of the information within the DeVry Commons and payroll for their employee population.

*

Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in an appropriate discipline required.

*

Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) preferred. Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification a plus.

*

Certified to conduct leadership training initiatives.

*

8+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience and 3+ year of supervisory experience required.

* Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills.

* Ability to relate and communicate with all levels of management.

* Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity. Display sound, dispassionate judgment at all time.

* Consistent attention to detail and follow-up. Must be a team-player, be flexible, and be a good listener with a high level of patience.

* Ability to manage sensitive, confidential issues.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.

* Facilitation, mediation, and interviewing skills.
