Job Description
The purpose of this position is to maximize profitable sales of all seed product lines offered by the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for conducting seed sales interviews with targeted customers and prospects. Cold call on prospects and potential new seed accounts.
* Utilize company's available crops programs to develop full-line seed customers.
* Provide technical training and sales support to the company's Crop Specialists.
* Participate in joint sales calls with Crop Specialists on key accounts to build relationships and increase sales.
* Utilize effective, value-added, selling techniques to meet the needs of customers.
* Continually search for ways to meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
* Conduct seed related presentations at CONSERV FS sales meetings, employee meetings, and grower meetings as assigned.
* Develop an annual seed marketing plan and budget.
* Assist appropriate personnel with seed pricing, ordering, and inventory.
* Work with GROWMARK Seed Division staff to develop marketing programs and ensure profitability.
* Develop and execute an effective plot program with emphasis on seed signage throughout the assigned territory.
Required Skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Normally requires a degree in agronomy, agri-business, or equivalent work experience.
* Must be CCA certified. and maintain a valid driver's license.
* Must have the ability to tolerate working hours beyond those considered "normal".
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
* Strong agronomic and problem solving skills.
* Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
