STRATEGY CONSULTANT - Internship Opportunity
As a Strategy Consultant Intern, you will be responsible for applying strategic thinking, business analysis and technology expertise to facilitating the development of organizational strategy and direction.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Tracking activities against strategy timelines and making adjustments/ensuring consistency with the strategy schedule.
  • Assisting with development of simple to intermediate situation analysis efforts.
  • Participating in the design of strategies
  • Conducting research on defined area of strategic interest
  • Coordinating gathering of key strategic metrics and reports. Monitoring and reporting progress on metrics.
  • Participating in the development of strategy documentation and communications.
  • Researching strategy and best practices (standards, tools and methods) used within and outside of Allstate.
The successful candidate should exhibit the following skills and abilities:
  • Strategic Thinking - Demonstrates ability to successfully identify long-range implications for an organization. Demonstrates a clear understanding of company, unit and/or project mission, objectives and strategies.
  • Internal Consulting - Understands the basic role of an internal consultant, both in terms of client relationships as well as staff interaction.
  • Facilitation - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully facilitate meetings and processes where the subject is moderately complex.
  • Best Practices - Receives training and/or has a solid understanding of best practices required regarding processes, products, services and administration.
  • Business Knowledge - Demonstrates the ability to apply functional business knowledge to successfully meet work objectives.
  • Business Analysis - Grasps and applies basic analysis concepts to solve problems. Understands how to synthesize information and develop concepts for basic analysis tasks.
  • Creativity - Demonstrates the ability to effectively design basic approaches to processes for strategic thinking and problem solving. Grasps and applies basic concepts and problem-solving techniques as they relate to job assignments.
