Senior Product Manager - Hematide
Title: Senior Product Manager - Hematide
Location: IL-Home Office (Deerfield)
OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this position is to plan, direct and coordinate the marketing of Takeda's Brand in the marketplace. This person will be responsible for establishing strategic direction, planning and development of marketing programs in order to meet market and competitive conditions. The Senior Product Manager will establish marketing goals to ensure an appropriate share of market and profitability for Takeda products. Additionally, this person will develop and execute long- and short- term marketing plans and programs to help ensure the profit, growth and expansion of the Brand in the marketplace. Some (however not limited to) of the responsibilities the Senior Product Manager will have are as follows; development of annual brand plan, oversee the planning of sales materials, relationships with key opinion leaders, associations, professional conventions, and assist in Brand Lifecycle Management.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Design marketing and promotional programs for assigned Takeda products in order to ensure share of market and profitability.
* Evaluate market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
* Development and progression of the Brand message.
* Development of short- and long-term marketing strategies and tactics.
* Plan, identify, develop and produce promotional materials needed to support the brands efforts/strategies.
* Direct the planning and implementation of national/regional marketing programs.
* Interface with Sales, MS&A, Regulatory and Legal advertising agency and other vendors to create pieces and see them through the approval process.
* Manage budget appropriately on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
* Help organize Life Cycle Management activities for the Brand.
* Establish critical relationships with top opinion leaders in the Brands marketplace.
* Oversee the coordination of speaker development conventions, district and regional meetings and associated logistics.
* Interface with Sales, MS&A, Regulatory and Legal advertising agency and other vendors to create pieces and see them through the approval process.
* Stay abreast of legal issues affecting the marketing of pharmaceutical products; communicate issues downward to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to pre-set standards within the industry and market.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
* Bachelors degree.
* 7 years experience in sales, marketing or related function.
* Pharmaceutical industry experience.
Desired:
* MBA
* Experience in marketing positions at a commercial pharmaceutical organization.
Takeda Knowledge/Skills:
* Industry Knowledge-understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the prescription drug distribution process (e.g. medical referrals, managed care systems, etc.)
* Therapeutic Knowledge-understanding of the disease state, treatment paradigms and future trends.
* Product Knowledge-understanding of the medical /therapeutic usage of the products.
* Marketing Techniques-understanding of pharmaceutical marketing methods, tools and concepts. (e.g., market research, advertising, public relations, media placement, etc.)
Skills:
* Strategic Planning and Implementation-ability to develop an overall marketing strategy and oversee the implementation of the strategy.
* Management-ability to set priorities, develop workflow processes, and direct staff.
* Communication-ability to communicate ideas, data both verbally and written, in a persuasive and appropriate manner.
* Budgeting-ability to create and maintain an accurate budget.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites. Some international travel may be required.
