We currently have an opening for an Editor.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in the planning and development of instructional materials, such as textbooks, workbooks, and other print and electronic ancillary materials programs.

* Edit manuscript for content, accuracy, reading level, grammar, style, and length.

* Identify problem areas in content and recommend solutions.

* Assist in the development of project schedules, and maintain and meet all intermediate and final schedules; inform project editor or editorial manager if circumstances prevent meeting deadlines.

* Coordinate and oversee the work of outside freelancers or vendors to provide supplemental editorial assistance.

* Work closely with marketing, production, design, and manufacturing to ensure that market requirements, project schedules, and goals are met.

* Must be detail oriented and able to edit a variety of materials in a timely manner.

* Communicate with fellow team members about project progress, and develop solutions to address issues.

* Work as a team player to meet all intermediate and final schedules.

Required:

* Bachelor's degree.

* A minimum of two years of publishing or teaching experience, elementary math teaching/editing experience preferred.

* Ability to demonstrate outstanding communication skills which include a thorough command of the English language, spelling, writing and grammar.

* Organizational, and time management proficiencies are also a must.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required.

* Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.

Desired:

* Classroom teaching experience.

* Educational publishing experience.
