Job Description Abbott is seeking an experienced medical device attorney to fill a new position in its Legal Regulatory & Compliance Department (FDA practice group), which is based out of its headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois. This Department is expanding substantially to support Abbott's growing medical products businesses.

Prospective candidates should have substantial experience (7-10 years general life-sciences experience with at least 4 years providing legal counsel in food and drug laws.) Responsibilities will include client counseling, creating cross-divisional standards on issues related to the marketing of medical devices and/or diagnostics, with focus on advertising and promotional issues, as well as ensuring overall compliance with the FDCA and its regulations.

Skills/Experience Requirements Must have excellent skills of communication and client-management, and at least 7-10 years of applicable legal experience from law firm, corporation, and/or government agency.

Education Requirements J.D.

Significant Work Activities & Conditions Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)

Keyboard use (greater or equal to 50% of the workday)

Percentage of Travel 10%
