Location: Wood Dale, Illinois

Reports to: Human Resources Generalist

Applus+ Technologies, Inc. is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial technology company and subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar international private equity firm. The company provides technology and management services to state and local governments nationwide.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Duties primarily include assisting with maintenance of our HRIS software product (Ceridian), assisting with benefit administration, new hire orientation paperwork, maintenance of employee records, incentive program, and supporting the HR Department with other various projects. This is an unpaid internship.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Access current procedures, including mapping of existing HR processes and develop changes to increase quality of services or reduce costs.

Assemble new hire packets and other miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Commands knowledge of basic principles and practices of human resources administration and shows initiative and focuses on matters before they become urgent.

Must demonstrate superior oral and written communication skills and excel in relating with others.

Have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff and employees.

Proficient using MS Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

A Junior or Senior majoring in Human Relations/Human Resources / Organizational Development or related field is a preferred, but not required

At least 2 years work experience in a customer service and/or administrative assistant role is required

Must have knowledge (perhaps from college courses) on the basic role of an HR department and the various functions performed in a corporate setting.

Previous internship experience in HR and/or benefits administration experience is a plus but not required.

SHRM experience preferred
