Title: Software Developer (DataStage)
Location: IL-Schaumburg
Nielsen is looking for an experience DataStage Developer to join the Innovation Delivery Organization (IDO). As a part of the IDO team you will be an integral part of a high energy team that is revolutionizing the way that Nielsen delivers value to both its customers and to Nielsen.
- Assists in the design, development, and modification of system, subsystem, or program specifications; and assists in the planning and establishment of testing and implementation procedures.
- Assists in the preparation of detailed specifications for programs to be written and in the analysis and revision of existing logic difficulties and documentation.
- Uses specialized skills and technical expertise to assist users in resolving a system problem, or escalates problem to a more experienced systems analyst in accordance with service level agreements.
- Assists in providing alternative solutions and recommending the best solution based upon fact discovery and management.
- Coordinates and monitors the development of program specifications and efforts.
- Participates in the development of work plans and schedules consistent with department standards and methods.
- Requires 5 years strong IBMDataStagedevelopment experience
- Requires 3 years of strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL.
- Strong Oracle knowledge for performance tuning
- Full functional knowledge of ETL solutions for legacy systems.
- Knowledge of operating systems (e.g. Windows)
- Experience with Data archival strategies a plus
- Experience with Netezza a plus
- Strong interpersonal, client service, oral and written communications, organizational, and task management skills.
