Gathers and organizes technical information about an organization's mission goals and needs, IT infrastructure and existing security/IA products. Assists in developing security/IA policies, procedures and standards. Responsibilities will include working with the customer to minimize risks and assess and secure networks.
Performs security audits on C2, Transportation and Financial Systems, per DODI 8500.2 to; maintain security posture, perform daily on-line monitoring, create audit trails, backup and retain audit records, develop/maintain tools to perform auditing, and protect systems from unauthorized access, modification or deletion.
Monitors systems for current security vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and intrusion attempts and reports findings. Researches tools that provide required security capabilities.
Ensures compliances with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs), Communication Tasking Orders (CTOs), Maintenance Tasking Orders (MTOs), and Network Tasking Orders (NTOs). Applies patches to systems in accordance with government directives.
Performs system administration and daily operation of the assigned servers and firewalls
Requires BS/BA degree.
Requires 2-5 years experience.
Appropriate DoD 8570 certification: Security +
