Job Description
This is a 'training' position, designed for those who want to fast track into a Warehouse Manager, Branch Manager, or Director of Operations at a Medline Warehouse. The incumbent will be exposed to every facet of running a Medline distribution center. He or she will be expected to learn the Medline method for managing inventory, production, safety, transportation, and human resources. He or she will also be trained in the systems, e.g., SAP, Catalyst, etc. that are used to run the logistics platform. Selected candidates will be traveling 60-70% of the time during the training period and exposed to multiple Medline locations and be expected to relocate at the end of the training program. The training program should last 12 to 24 months. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a solid education and background in operations and a desire to work for a fast-paced, large corporate organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a roll-up your sleeves attitude.
Qualifications include:
* Bachelors degree in related area of study strongly preferred.
* Seven to ten years business experience, with seven years being in a distribution center environment.
* Three to five years management experience, with demonstrated expertise in sourcing and selecting warehouse employees and operations supervisors.
* Must be flexible to 60% + travel while being exposed to multiple operations.
* Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules and perform manpower planning.
* Demonstrated ability to evaluate performance levels of leads and warehouse employees.
* Demonstrated history of successful development of subordinates.
* Extremely high sense of urgency, personal energy, and stamina.
* Capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands. High level of personal integrity.
* Effectively navigates through simple to moderate situations, both internal and external, that may require multiple decision makers.
* Effective communicator in both group and individual settings with hourly employees.
* Effective writing skills and competent in the Microsoft suite of products.
* Demonstrated ability to model Active Listening. Approachable.
* Effective in multi-cultural environments.
* Effective communicator with internal and external Executives.
* Demonstrated ability to lead work environments that embrace the principles of positive employee relations
