As a Craftsman (Electric/Gas/Water) in our Facilities department, you will utilize your prior experience to perform skilled crafts duties throughout the park with little or no supervision, ensuring services provided meet section standards, clients' specifications, applicable codes and standards and program goals and is aesthetically pleasing to visitors. Drawing upon your results orientation, you will perform tasks associated with the sections' Special Events Operating Program including performing skilled craft duties, providing estimates, and communicating all pertinent information to Managers and other concerned parties. Making use of your knowledge and experience, you will also carry out craftsman tasks associated with the section's functional programs as assigned: (a) routinely inspect functional, structural and aesthetic systems in exhibits and facilities and perform minor repairs and maintenance; (b) perform crafts work up to specified quality standards; (c) advise of material needs; and, (d) carry out tasks associated with the section's standard operating procedures which include, but are not limited to, equipment and shop maintenance, safety, inventory and purchasing, facility surveys, and utility locations. You will also be responsible for providing the Manager resource needs for budget development, assist in controlling the operating budget, provide facility and exhibit survey data, perform duties associated with the section's overhead operating program, and other duties as assigned. As Brookfield Zoo is open 365 days per year, this position may require the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. The hourly rate for this union position is $24.63/hr. The requirements for this position include: * Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. * Graduate of an accredited apprenticeship program, two years experience at a journeyman level, an Associates degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience required. * Must have knowledge and experience in scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and project management. * Ability to perform all traditional tasks related to field. We are currently seeking full time workers for our warehouse. - Responsibilities include picking and pulling orders, shipping and receiving, and stocking. - Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM through 3:30 PM, with overtime available. - Benefits include health insurance, PTO, and profit sharing. - Applicants must be willing to work in a cooler (35*) for extended periods of time, be able to lift 80#, and exhibit close attention to detail. - Employees are expected to have consistent attendance plus reliable transportation to our facility. - Previous experience working in a warehouse is a plus, but not a requirement.
