The Branch Manager has a high level of visibility in their community by attending functions as well as serving community organizations. It is a requirement that this position have a good understanding of small businesses and have the ability to promote our Business Banking products. Serves as a role model for maintaining a positive branch environment. There will be a rigorous 6+ months training program for this position. Responsibilities: Service Strong customer service skills to provide FAB’s high standard of service. Models exemplary client service behaviors by counseling customers in the appropriate products to serve their needs. Responsible for all branch service and operations. This includes maintaining the service level of the branch to meet established guidelines and providing feedback to staff on their performance. Have a working knowledge of all branch functions, including but not limited to teller and personal banking transactions and special services. Have the highest level of check cashing authority with full transaction approval authority. Also, must maintain the levels of authority given to their staff. Handle customer issues, problem solving and fee reversal requests; works towards improving branch profitability by making sound authorization approvals. Adhere to and uphold all written policies and procedures. Includes monitoring security, operations and personnel policies, and performing necessary audit functions for compliance. Maintain building space, appearance and equipment as needed. This will include directing the maintenance, securing supplies, working with other FAB departments and making cost effective expenditure decisions. Perform opening/closing procedures of the branch. This includes possession of keys as well as combinations to various vaults. Monitor all operations of the branch, including maintenance of the appropriate cash levels; authorize payment of checks within personal limits; monitor security of vault cash and consignment items; inspect surveillance equipment for working condition and quality of picture. Manage staffing level to ensure that the proper number of employees are staffed to serve customers appropriately. Ensure staff meets work deadlines and that responsibilities are completed on a timely basis. Sales Have the highest level of personal sales of deposit and loan products. Manage sales activities within the branch to meet or exceed goals. This should include creating a strategy for branch to be effective in their market. Develop and grow relationships with both internal and external customers. This should include outside activities, such participation in local service organizations. Assist in branch sales initiatives. Including, but not limited to: identifying customers for other products, such as investments and loans, and referring them to such; participation in calling programs to new/existing customers; preparation of mailers to new/existing customers. Participate in telemarketing and working of onsite trade shows and other sales related events. Develop and implement strategic and market plans to grow and retain branch customer deposit and loan balances and relationships. Active participation in local community and service organizations for the purpose of increasing branch awareness and business development. Leadership Promote teamwork and employee participation. Communicate effectively. Manage and coach team and individual performance. Select, retain, and develop qualified employees. Provide employee performance evaluations and feedback. Professional role model, including appearance and dress. Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.The employee should have 2 years of retail banking or related experience in a financial service industry. The employee must have a proven track record of successful service and sales performance. Very high level of written and verbal communication skills.Word processing, spreadsheets and a strong working knowledge of all software systems used in a branch.Assist other branches in close proximity when staffing levels necessitate.Travel to meetings, training and seminars as scheduled.A 40 - 50 hour work week not including after hours community events. Must be available to the branch during all working hours including Saturdays. Preference will be given to candidates with established local community relationships.
